Leadpages has always been a known player in the lead generation and landing page software industry. Nonetheless, I haven’t done a Leadpages review until now for two reasons.

The first one is because its services are not free, and the second reason is that there are many other players in the market who provide similar options.

However, there is a catch. To get to know how lead pages can make your life easier and be worth looking into, you have to go through this review and see whether it would earn its space among your useful software programs.

What Is Leadpages?

What Is Leadpages

With a promise to turn clicks into customers, Leadpages helps entrepreneurs and marketers build simple landing pages without any coding experience. This, in turn, makes creating conversion-oriented lead capture pages super-easy.

And that’s not all. This can also be used to send automated email campaigns through their platform. Even more than that, this marketing tool helps you create thank-you and confirmation pages with ease, along with a social sharing button suitable for your business’s website.

They provide a comprehensive step-by-step guide to help you get more subscribers, generate leads and increase sales. They have a ‘Getting Started’ tab where they give a walkthrough on how to use their lead capture pages. You can also refer to their official website for more details about what they offer in terms of lead generation and marketing.

Who Is Behind It?

When Clay Collins was the CEO of Leadpages, I first heard about this platform. Clay Collins was a well-known blogger and expert in 2013/2014, and it was via him that I first learned about him. I believe it came from one of Pat Flynn’s blog entries.

They received $27 million in venture capital financing in 2015, which they utilized to significantly enhance the software and service. I recall there was a period when you couldn’t modify any components or move layouts inside the platform.

John Tedesco took over as CEO from Clay in 2017. Since I initially used it in 2014, a lot has changed.

I won’t go through what features were accessible before, but I will tell you about the features that are now available in Leadpages so you know what to anticipate.

What Are Leadpages’ Pricing Plans?

pricing

The platform offers 3 different pricing plans to suit your needs, as per their official website. They are Standard, Pro and Advanced. They offer monthly and yearly subscriptions for all three plans.

  • The Standard Plan costs $37 a month ($27 when billed yearly).
  • The Pro Plan costs $79 a month ($59 when billed yearly).
  • The Advanced Plan costs $321 a month ($239 when billed yearly).

All plans include a 14-day free trial and free hosting, as well as personalized domain names. They also come with limitless traffic and leads, lead alerts, and a vast library of mobile-friendly designs.

The main differences between the plans are the number of sites that can be created, the level of customer support, and the number of advanced features offered.

What Helpful Features Are Available With Leadpages?

features

It has many features that can be very useful for your business. Their features page will give you a better idea of what they offer and how it can help your business. The following are some of my favorite features:

  • Simple lead capture forms (thank-you and confirmation pages) for your company’s website.
  • Landing pages with autoresponders that deliver personalized emails based on lead actions. This is great in terms of lead nurturing and boosting sales making this a feature which is hard to miss.
  • Lead capture pages that look professional.
  • A/B testing on your landing page designs with click of a button can help you optimize the results by improving conversion rates.
  • Integrations feature a number of apps and platforms like ExactTarget, ActiveCampaign, MailChimp,Facebook, etc. This means you can also integrate your email campaigns into this platform, which is kind of cool if you are planning on growing your email list.

Website Builder and Editor

Leadpages may also be used to create complete funnels. The website builder is similar to the landing page builder in that it utilizes a simple drag-and-drop functionality.

This platform allows you to create aesthetically attractive web pages without having to know HTML, CSS, or Javascript (at least not on your end).

Without any extra plugins or code, you can also build custom drop-down menus, alter styles, and much more.

The site you create, like the individual landing pages, should adhere to SEO best practices.

They’re mobile-friendly, quick, and, most importantly, on-brand, which means more leads and sales (whatever your goal is).

A/B Split Testing

Split testing is an important technique for improving conversion rates, particularly if you’re using Facebook Ads.

It’s essentially a method to try out many variations of a single web page to observe how people engage with them if you’re a novice.

You may learn more about your prospects’ behavior and build landing pages with higher conversion potential using these insights. You may conduct an infinite number of A/B split tests on your landing pages.

What’s even better? It’s all really simple especially with their funnels, you can duplicate a funnel with a simple click and alter them for your split test campaigns.

Alert Bar Builder

Apart from that, Leadpages is also a builder of “Alert Bars” (sometimes known as sticky bars).

You may use these alert bars to draw your visitors’ attention to a message (like a special offer or an important notification).

Unless the user closes the bar, it “sticks” to the page and scrolls with the user.

You can easily build alert bars using Leadpages.

You may also select whether or not to keep the bar in place when scrolling, as well as where it appears on the page.

The Drag and Drop Editor Explained

A landing page may be made in one of two ways. You could code it out and make anything come to life — your only restriction would be your coding expertise.

You may also utilize builders. The majority of drag-and-drop editors in builders nowadays are drag-and-drop, which means you have a taskbar on the left side of the page and just drag whatever you want to add from the taskbar onto the page.

The drag-and-drop editor was first offered by Leadpages in 2016. It was a much-anticipated update that brought Leadpages a slew of new clients.

Previously, their default editor, Legacy, was much more cumbersome and design-wise restricted. One thing to keep in mind is that Leadpages still provides customers with both kinds of editors.

Although it’s difficult to see why anybody would select the old standard editor, it remains a viable choice. Having two editors accessible, though, implies that you must be cautious when selecting templates.

Similar to WordPress, Leadpages makes use of content blocks. To modify, just click on any block on the landing page, as seen in the image above highlighted in blue.

You can drag any piece from the taskbar over and drop it in after it’s highlighted in blue, and it’ll instantly snap into place. This is one aspect that users of Leadpages decry, claiming that the lack of flexibility to put components anywhere they want is a stumbling block.

This is advantageous since you won’t have to worry about the precise positioning of items on your landing page. Instead, you may utilize the template’s default settings.

Pop-Up Builder

Leadpages can also be used to generate personalized pop-up messages to increase conversions.

You may create communications that are sent to your audience at precisely the appropriate time, prompting them to perform certain actions, with just a few easy clicks.

The platform enables you to customize not just the time of the pop-ups, but also the “triggers” for them. You might, for example, have a message/form appear when a user clicks on a certain picture or scrolls through a specific area of your website.

Additionally, pop-ups for exit-intent may be created. You may have one of these puppies appear as a last-ditch attempt to grab a user who is looking for the door without taking any action.

Robust Analytics

Creating a landing page is not difficult. But how can you make a truly excellent one that converts well? That’s another thing altogether.

The landing page builder you choose should be much more than a design tool. It should monitor data from your landing pages automatically so you can see what’s successful and duplicate those components in future pages.

Views, emails, and conversion rates that are all unique… You may look at a variety of indicators to evaluate how your pages are doing.

With this information, you may experiment with different components, styles, and text to drastically enhance the performance of your landing pages.

What does Leadpages Integrate With? WordPress & Other Integrations With Leadpages

integrations

A WordPress plugin is also available from Leadpages. From the admin interface, you’ll be able to customize your landing pages and popups.

You may use the plugin to make one of your landing pages a normal WordPress page, for example. It’ll even have its own unique URL.

The plugin may also be used to make a landing page your homepage. You may also define whether your popup has exit intent or on a timer from the WordPress backend.

Leadpages works with a variety of technologies in addition to Facebook. Zapier is probably the most significant of these tools.

What is the significance of Zapier? Because it’s a tool that allows you to link various applications together.

Zapier now supports more than 1,000 app connections. To put it another way, once you’ve connected Zapier, you’ve basically integrated everything. Leadpages also interacts with a number of other popular tools, including:

  • Stripe
  • Aweber
  • Calendly
  • GetResponse
  • Google Analytics
  • Hubspot
  • LinkedIn
  • Mailchimp
  • Facebook
  • Marketo
  • Paypal
  • Salesforce
  • Shopify
  • Twitter AdWords
  • Google

If you have an ecommerce site, you’ll like the fact that Leadpages allows you to add a checkout to any landing page.

Even better, you can make a popup checkout. If you have a popular product in a specialized market and believe your leads would be interested in making a purchase right away, this is a fantastic feature to have.

What Kind Of Templates Does Leadpages Offer?

templates

Leadpages templates are attractive and easy to use. You may choose to use one of their pre-made templates or create your own using their drag-and-drop editor.

Their templates are without a doubt the finest in the business. They offer around 150 templates, which are organized by purpose and industry.

And, as far as I can tell, almost all of them are mobile responsive, meaning they’ll look great on any device. Do you need a lead capture form or a landing page for a particular promotion? You figured it out.

Are you a startup or a tech company in need of a landing page for a free guide or a price page for a product?

You don’t have to do anything since the job has already been done for you. Simply click, update your information, and you’re good to go.

The templates on Leadpages aren’t perfect. Leadpages has two types of templates: standard and drag-and-drop. There are just a few customization possibilities in the basic templates.

Conversion-Optimized Landing Page Templates

If you’ve ever created a landing page, you know that a successful landing page that converts won’t look like any other page on your site.

It’ll most likely appear (and sound!) bolder, more minimalistic, and a lot more straightforward. Most landing page builders will, and should, include a number of templates that you may use as a starting point. For starters, they should be mobile-friendly.

A good constructor should also help you save time and effort. Instead of needing to manually incorporate key aspects of an efficient landing page, a competent builder should have already completed the task. All you have to do now is edit, publish, and get back to work.

Leadpages Leadpages, for example, categorizes its templates based on their role. “Leadership Webinar,” “Real Estate Tour Request Confirmation,” and “Free E-Book Opt-in Page” are just a few examples. Aside from that, Leadpages organizes its templates into categories based on which ones convert the best.

What Are The Pros And Cons Of Leadpages?

leadpages Pros and Cons

When it comes to generating lead capture forms, Leadpages is a wonderful application to invest in. Their qualities are also beneficial for expanding a firm via internet media. It does, however, have a few flaws. The benefits and drawbacks of utilizing Leadpages are as follows:

Leadpages Pros

  • Quickly create landing pages
  • Sort the templates by conversion rate.
  • It is easy to use.
  • No traffic limitations
  • Solid integration options
  • Affordable

Leadpages Cons

  • On the Standard plan, there is limited A/B testing.
  • Only a few form choices are available.
  • Lack of customization.
  • Drag and drop builder is sluggish.
  • No enterprise option.

Attributes a Good Landing Page Builder Should Have

It’s possible that the best landing page builder for us isn’t the best landing page builder for you. As a result, it’s a good idea to consider what the characteristics of a strong landing page would be for you while making your decision.

Then you can compare landing page builders to determine which one will allow you to generate those aspects the most efficiently.

The objective of most landing pages is to collect leads. A decent landing page builder should, at the very least, meet the following three criteria:

Great customizability, Conversion Optimized Standard Templates & Robust analytics.

The Competition

competition

In the professional landing page creation software industry, there is a lot of rivalry, with Unbounce and Instapage giving two competitive options.

Unbounce provides a 14-day free trial and four options ranging in price from $72 to 270 a month (billed annually). Conversions and traffic are restricted, however client sub-accounts are limitless, and the basic subscription has more connectors than Leadpages.

Instapage only has one fixed-price plan, which is $149 per month (paid yearly) and is free for the first 14 days. You may sign up for a bespoke plan to obtain access to more sophisticated features, which will be charged based on your specific requirements. The basic subscription includes A/B testing and integrations, as well as no conversion or traffic restrictions.

Leadpages vs Unbounce

Unbounce is more costly than Leadpages, but you receive unlimited A/B testing on every edition of the platform, as well as a robust set of optimization tools. Unbounce’s page builder is also superior, allowing you to create and customize landing pages quickly and easily.

Leadpages vs Instapage

Instapage’s basic “Core” subscription also includes unlimited A/B testing, and its landing page builder is arguably the finest I’ve seen so far.

Leadpages vs ClickFunnels

Clickfunnels is more expensive than Leadpages. It’s great for using as part of your website to create landing pages and basic sales funnels. Clickfunnels is intended to be a one-stop shop for all of your website’s needs.

Leadpages vs Convertkit

Because ConvertKit and Leadpages serve such disparate objectives, they share few features. ConvertKit is a specialist email marketing automation platform, whereas Leadpages is a landing page builder, customizer, and tester.

Customer Support

customer support

Leadpages offers email, chat, and phone assistance, but the method you may use depends on the package you choose. The Basic plan includes email assistance, while the Pro plan includes online chat (available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST) and the Advanced plan includes priority phone help.

The Leadpages website has a support center with a searchable collection of articles and lessons. There’s also a blog, podcasts, webinars, and downloadable guides, checklists, and worksheets under the resources area.

Who Should Buy LeadPages?

who is it for

The fact is that it is well-suited to the creation of landing pages. Anyone seeking to start from scratch with a lead generating system would profit significantly from acquiring LeadPages.

There are a variety of reasons why someone may pick LeadPages over creating their own email capture form.

While some people prefer to perform their own back-end work, many bloggers and company owners rely on website builders such as WordPress and email-generating applications such as MailChimp. LeadPages is worth considering if the cost suits your budget.

Final Thoughts

Final Thoughts

There are several advantages to using Leadpages. It’s inexpensive and simple to use. Only the Pro and Advanced subscriptions include the finest features, such as A/B split testing and online payments. Even the Pro plan is less expensive than the others.

Leadpages is an excellent option for small businesses and entrepreneurs looking to expand their internet presence. In the end, I believe Leadpages is well worth the investment, especially if you’re trying to kill two birds with one stone by creating individual landing pages and entire websites. Hope my Leadpages review helped you decide whether your not you should go for Leadpages.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) About Leadpages:

When Should I Use Leadpages?

Is Leadpages Better Than Clickfunnels?

With a choice of themes, Leadpages makes it easy to create landing pages, conduct A/B testing, and generate leads. ClickFunnels is a more expensive alternative, but it comes with a lot of features and is simple to use.

Is Leadpages Easy To Use?

Yes. While there are standard templates and tools for almost any purpose, everything is so neatly structured and simple to use that it feels simple. The landing pages and pop-ups seem quite professional, and they don’t feel aggressive or “salesy.”

Is There a Free Alternative to Leadpages?

When it comes to email opt-in forms, Builderall is one of the finest free Leadpages alternatives. They are an all-in-one marketing tool that can assist you in creating converting opt-ins for your autoresponder campaign or future marketing objectives. You may also use their built-in MailingBoss system to broadcast emails with their autoresponder. Check out my builderall review to see why this might be a good alternative to Leadpages.

By Leadpages, Leadpages Center is a marketing automation add-on for Leadpages. In the future, it’s unclear how Drip and the Center will interact.
