Interested in having solar on your roof of your mobile home? Let’s be straight about this: it is just not possible to have solar panels installed on the roofs of mobile homes for a number of reasons.

First of all, most mobile homes are built on lots that are generally not large enough to support a complete solar installation and other systems that are necessary to run and maintain a mobile home. In most cases, it is because the construction of mobile homes is such that they are not able to hold up to the weight of a complete solar system. When you have solar panels installed on your mobile home, you need to have a strong foundation to support the panels and any other electrical systems that are located there. It is simply not possible to have solar panels installed on top of these mobile homes without the foundation that supports them falling and crushing the solar panels in the process.

Some Important Factors To Consider

Another issue that many builders have when it comes to putting solar systems on mobile homes is the placement of the panels. There is no space on a mobile home to install a solar array that will generate enough electricity to run your home or pay the electric bill. Since the panels are placed on a mobile home, they are exposed to direct sunlight all the time. While the panels do block some of the direct sunlight from hitting the panels, the amount of sunlight that hits the panels during the day is still very significant. This can lead to overheating of the panels and eventually failure of the solar panel system.

Lastly, many people have found that the installation costs for solar power on mobile homes just aren’t worth the costs. For starters, most people can’t afford to spend the money necessary to have solar panels installed on their roofs. If you have been told that you need to have solar panels installed in order to have access to cheap electricity, then you can bet that you are in for a rude awakening in the near future.

These are just a few of the problems that have been encountered with the installation of solar power systems on mobile homes. The reality is that the installation of a solar power system is simply not affordable by average consumers.

Final Thoughts

However, solar panels could soon be a viable option that consumers can consider when deciding whether or not to have their mobile home powered. Due to the recent epidemic, the costs are going down each day. If you live in the Midwest or in a southern state, you can find systems that are made out of durable materials that have been proven to work for long periods of time, even in high temperatures.
